Carlo Ancelotti says the remaining La Liga games are a matter of "life or death" with his Real Madrid side five points behind Barcelona.
Real will again go to within two points of their rivals if they beat Almeria on Wednesday night with four La Liga games remaining, as the title race looks to go to the wire one more.
Despite Almeria languishing in 17th place and fighting for their own survival, Ancelotti says Real will approach this match as if it was any other opponent.
He said: "All the games are a matter of life and death now. We will approach this match with that mentality.
"This is going to be an important fixture. A tricky and challenging game.
"We are entering into a stage of the season in which all our encounters will determine the outcome of the future."
Real must travel to Sevilla and host Valencia with a Champions League semi-final first leg sandwiched in between, and Ancelotti knows the importance of momentum between now and the end of the campaign.
"We are focused on this match and are aware of how difficult the remaining games are. We are going to try to be at our best.
"The team are in good shape, playing well, and we can play with full intensity for the final stage of the season."
