Edinson
Cavani has suggested he could leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the
season as he is unhappy with his current role with the Ligue 1 champions.
The
Uruguay international has mainly been used out wide since joining the club from
Napoli in the summer of 2013, with head coach Laurent Blanc preferring Zlatan
Ibrahimovic as his central striker.
Clubs
such as Manchester United and Juventus have been said to be closely monitoring
Cavani's situation at PSG and the 28-year-old has now made it clear that there
is no guarantee he will stay put.
"I
don't know whether I will stay at PSG. I might stay, I might leave... You never
know what will happen in football," Cavani told GQ.
"When
I arrived at PSG, I was forced to play on the wing. People don't understand how
much that has influenced my performances. I would score a lot more if I was
played as a striker.
"I
want to play as a striker. I would without a doubt do much better in my own
position."
Cavani
would not be available on the cheap even if he attempted to force through a
transfer.
The
attacker has a contract with the Parc des Princes side until June 2018 and club
president Nasser Al Khelaifi claimed last month that they would not even
consider a potential €50 million offer.
