Italian
club AC Milan has announced the appointment of former Sampdoria boss Vincenzo
Montella as their new coach. Montella, known during his playing career as the
'The Little Airplane' because of his short stature and goal celebration, took
Sampdoria to 15th place last season. He has signed a 2 year contract and will
replace interim coach Cristian Brocchi at Rossoneri. An official statement
released by the club read: "Vincenzo
Montella is our new coach, he has signed a new contract which begins on July 1.
It is the belief of the club that the style of play of the new Rossoneri coach
with be the base of a fruitful and positive collaboration."
