DEL BOSQUE: SPAIN WILL BE BACK

Spain's Euro 2016 campaign came to an end yesterday after their 2-0 loss to Italy. Manager Vicente del Bosque had previously hinted at leaving the job at the end of the tournament. He intends to hold talks with the federation president to discuss his future. "I accept that Italy were better than us but that does not have to mean it is the end of an era. Spanish football still has a great structure, with good players and coaches, and now we must look forward to qualifying for the next World Cup." said the former Real Madrid manager. He felt that it was a close game and that his team was 'beaten and not battered' and also reflected the late goal that Spain conceded against Croatia was the one that derailed their title defence. Italy's manager, Antonio Conte was of the opinion that one defeat doesn't signal the end of the Spanish football and he too argued that the country's domestic structure is in good shape which would help them come back stronger.
