Southampton boss Ronald Koeman on Morgan Schneiderlin's return to the club as a Manchester United player: "I hope the reaction to him is a positive one. He did everything for the club, he had a great time in Southampton, he was ready for the next step.
"We had a very good relationship after the difficult summer that we had at the club, his reaction was fantastic, he had a big part in a big season last year and it's best for him and for the player, that's the important thing.
"He's now a player for Manchester United and I wish him the best, but not on Sunday."
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal on Luke Shaw's injury:"I called him last night. He sounds very strong which is amazing to me, a big surprise, but a good signal.
"But he knows also that it is a long way to go and it is not easy.
"It is a big loss for us, also for the team. I said in advance already it will be the season of Luke Shaw and now it's finished nearly.
"He started so well, we built up a left wing with Memphis Depay and Shaw, but we have to start filling it again and it is not easy. But we have to do it."
