We bring
to you out moment of
the day, we bring you the heartbreaking scene when Lionel Messi missed the
penalty in the Copa America final. He was the first one to take the spot kick
for Argentina in the shootout. Lucas Biglia also missed his kick as Chile defeated Albiceleste to defend the Copa.

It was
dejavu once
again as Argentina were beaten by Chile on penalties for the 2nd time in 2
years in a Copa America final.
Having
scored 18 goals in the tournament, Argentina started on the front foot. Gonzalo
Higuain had a golden opportunity in the first half when he was through on goal
with just the keeper to beat. The Napoli striker couldn't keep his nerves and
his chip over the keeper missed the target. Chile were reduced to 10 men when
Diaz was sent off for a second bookable offence after he blocked Lionel Messi's
run. However, Argentina's advantage was short-lived as the referee issued a red
card for Marcos Rojo for his challenge on Vidal. Replays suggested that it was
a harsh call from the official. After the dismissals, both teams went into a
shell and failed to score at the end of 90 minutes. Kun Aguero had two
opportunities in extra time; his header off a Messi's free-kick was brilliantly
saved by Claudio Bravo and he failed to keep his shot down when he was played
into space at the edge of the box. After 120 minutes, it was once again time
for a shootout to decide the champions.
Arturo
Vidal's penalty was well saved by Romero. Messi astonishingly skied his spot
kick. Bravo kept Lucas Biglia's shot out and the rest of Chileans kept their
cool and dispatched their penalties in style to win the shootout 4-2.
