CONTE: LOSING SHOOTOUT AIN'T A SHAME

After losing in the quarters against Germany in a crazy penalty shootout, Coach Antonio Conte said there is nothing to be ashamed of. 7 players failed to score in the shootout after the teams drew 1 - 1 in 120 minutes. Germany are unbeaten in shootouts since 1976 and the World Champions kept their record when Jonas Hector scored the winning spot kick. "Being beaten by Germany on penalties is no shame, as we could've gone forward too. I am proud of what these players did. The world champions changed their system for us and that's a reason to be proud," Conte said. He further added that his only regrets are the penalties and applauded the players for their efforts.

The Italian is leaving the national side to take over Chelsea this season in the Premier League.
